I renovated my kitchen last year. To let in more sunshine, I installed a double-slide window right beside the original one and a three-level shelf in the concave corner where there used to be the bulky closet, and a narrow fridge cabinet was put in place beside the shelf.. Shutters were hung on the three glass-paneled windows. The door towards the inner room was knocked down, so did the dry wall which originally adjacent to the living room. The kitchen has become an open space that immediately expands out to the living room on the long side and a thorough passage has replaced the bar sticking out in between the French-windowed corner with vaulted ceiling and the cooking cabinets. I re-tiled the floor with wood planks to replace the yellow floor tiles before refurnishing the kitchen. I refurnished the white goods in my kitchen to replace the old ones. One table was also translated into a white one with four desks in a line in the middle of the kitchen and a smaller table and some chairs were put in the vaulted-ceiling corner to make a casual dining area with a beautiful view into the yard. To make the kitchen brighter, I replaced the two ceiling lamps with two brighter pendant lamps right upon the kitchen table with just one foot high, making the green pot plant more exuberant--at least it seems so. Under the big white kitchen ventilator was the cabinet, cupboard, all in white color. Right beside it I put on some oil paintings with two on the top and three others below.
