一、善待父母
①This picture reveals a not-uncommon phenomenon of how elders are treated by their grown-up children in some of the families in China. When they are too old to take care of themselves, the elders become burdens to be kicked around by their sons and daughters like a football, a pitiful and unjust sight that arouse indignation among many Chinese.
②As a nation in renowned in the world for many of its virtures, the Chinese people have been practicing filial piety throughout history. Many much-told stories reiterate this time-honored virtue of loving and respecting elders, like the story of TiYing in the West Han dynasty who risked her life in order to save her round father from corporal punishment. Those who try every means to avoid their duties of looking after their elders should bear in mind that they are much indebted to their parents for their rearing. Without the loving care and selfless devotion of their parents, how could they have grown up healthily and become successful? How could it be possible for them to maltreat their parents without the pricks of conscience?
③Every one of us should live up to the virtues passed down to us by our ancestors. Only in this way can we be worthy of the name of Chinese.
二、合作—解决经济下行问题
①The global economy, who is sleeping over that stretcher, like a helpless-sick wreck, is being practiced emergency treatment by worldwide-banking systems, which are trying their best to save the market intensively by cooperation. Conspicuously, this is a horrible depiction concerning the economic downturn around the world.
②Several factors weigh heavily for this round of economic recession, yet there are two kernels suspended on the top of the list which should never be overlooked. First of all, the economic slide in business cycle, as the case of economic crisis, would make it come back every 10-30 years on the average, so would this time.
③Furthermore, the overestimation of economic prosperity has resulted in a great multitude of bubbles in the securities and the realties. A case in point is one of my father's colleagues, who made use of installment policy to speculate in real estate industry, thus, only paying 30% of totally-needed funds to possess 3 apartments, with the aggregate price over RMB 2 million.
④Actually, it is not the Day of Judgment. What we are glad to see is the keyword ——“cooperation”! If the drastic measures would be taken immediately, just as laying down the associative -effective discipline to prevent the crisis from spreading all over the world, delivering the moderate outlook of consumption and ensuring our investing manners more rational, we will surely get through this tough period before long.
三、中国老龄化问题
①It is described by the chart that the aging problem has shown an irreversible trend in China. As we can see the proportion that elders above sixty years old, take in the whole population has risen up steadily by 0.4-0.8% on average every year from 11.6% in 2007 to 13.7% in 2011, which has brought a heavy burden to our social security system.
②Generally speaking, the aging society is the strongest proof of a country's sound development. It is hardly difficult for us to figure out this positive sign in developed countries. However, what we should not ignore is the complicated situation in our motherland. First, China is a vast economic and political entity with a huge population. If there are too many olds but relatively less youngsters we don't have enough labors available to keep our development sustainable. Second, China's social security system, involving insurance mechanism, health care policy etc.,is still in a low-developed level, which can barely meet the needs of vast majority of seniors.
③Thus, we still have a long way to go. Considering that the aging problem is termed as a critical factor to social stability, we have all reasons to be serious about it. Also, our government should reform the security system immediately to build up a sense of justice and equality.
四、两代关系
①As is depicted in the cartoon, while the aged parents are exerting all their efforts to push a baby carriage, Their gown-up son is lying in the carriage, comfortably drinking from a baby bottle. The poor mother is asking in despair, “When is the end of taking care of our son?” The captain raeds: self-dependence.
②While many young men choose to be NEET(Not currently engaged in Education, Employment or Training), as the cartoon above illustrates, it is still crucial for us to earn self-dependence. One reason is that doing so can improve our efficiency and productivity. In our everyday life, there will always be occasions when we are unable to obtain outside assistance and have to depend on our own knowledge and skills to solve problems. Under these circumstances, those who trust their own abilities and judgement will find creative solutions, enabling them to be more productive and successful. In addition to fastering greater efficiency in our daily life, self -dependence can also help make life more meaningful. Since self-reliant individuals possess confidence in their own abilities, they also tend to be more willing to try new things. This kind of do-it-yourself mindset can yield a sense of satisfaction and pride, and add excitement to an otherwise mundane life.
③In the final analysis, I maintain that it is imperative for young people to depend on themselves. Since self-reliance can boost our efficiency and add meaning to our lives, it is a desirable trait to possess for youngsters.
