- For most people, positive emotions outnumber negative emotions in daily life.
- Positive emotions have the momentary effect of broadening your awareness, which over time builds your resourcefulness
- Negative bias: The tendency to attach more weight to negative events than to positive events
- Negative emotions motivate us to have one or two specific action urges, while positive emotions motivate us to be more open and have multiple action urges.

Love is a momentary feeling that is dynamic and changing
Having a lack of positive social connections can be just as damaging to your health as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, or being obese
The purpose of smiles:
- To express positivity to others and evoke positivity from others
- To collectively broaden mindsets and build resources among groups of people
- To create moments of positivity resonance which ultimately serve as a nutrient to out health and wellbeing

- Savoring connections (Positive social connection forecasts health and longevity.)
Friends don't let friends lose their capacity for humanity - Daily social interaction habits strengthen our "social connection muscle", which improves our biological capacity to socially connect as long as we continue to exercise this "muscle"
Face-to-face interactions enable greater synchrony and shared positivity between two people, which can ultimately improve our health and our capability to empathize
