Some say if a Time Telescope that can enable historians to look at events hundreds of years ago is invented, it will bring an negative impact on us. I totaly diagree. We should look at it from the positive and negative side.
From the negative side, looking back into time and discovering things that were hidden may raise comflicts. Some things were hidden for a reason, and bringing them up will cause people to panic. Things that the whole human race wanted to forget will be exposed again. It’s like opening an old scar. It wll bring pain to everyone.
From the positive side, looking at old events will help us reconstruct the past. We can get to know our ancestors’ daily lives, for example: how do they make tools, what do they eat... We can discover answers to the mysteries we have craved for so long. For example, how exactly were the pyramids built? All those tons and tons of rock, how were they transported? Did aliens really help?
Also, we can"retrieve" our curtural heritage that were lost during the years. We could get to know what the carvings and paintings meant; what our ancestors wanted to express when they wrote down all those ancient words? Knowing about our past helps us to know more about ourselves and shape the future.
Lastly, we can find out the truth about the stories that were told wrong. Most stories were told by winners, and they changed the story to the version they wanted. What actually happend was lost in the wind of time. The telescope can help us see the truth. The losers’ stories were told wrongly. They are misunderstood by us, and we need to find out the truth.
To conclude, we should see the"Time Telescope"as a double edged blade. It wll bring many benefits but also harms.
