#20180503# Brown paper bags are common products that we see everyday, but not everyone know its inventor—Margaret Knight. In her earliest years, Knight was a tireless tinkerer, who created many projects and products. As a 12-year-old kid, she joined a cotton factory, where grievous injury usually occurred due to sharp “steel-tipped flying shuttles”, and she devised an shuttle restraint system that soon rapidly reduces the amount of injuries. After she was older, Knight worked in a paper bag company, where she originated a machine to make and fold paper bags faster. Even some people tried to copy her product, the model of the invention is patented. Today, there are still paper bags that are manufactured using updated versions of Knight’s machine.
