We’re all smiles and easy-going when everyone agrees with every point we make. At least many of us are. Well, until the pins of criticism prick those points and force us to reconsider our opinions.
Whether it’s our significant criticizing our decision to preorder another Mac when the old one works just fine or our friends at the office disagreeing with our support for a political figure, that’s where many of us show who we really are.
That’s because some people (wrongly) see themselves as untouchables, and disagreeing with them, let alone criticizing them, deflates their ego.
Yes, it’s understandable when destructive criticism grounded in spite and laden with vitriol gets someone boiling.
But watch how some people handle justified criticism. See if they try to defend their indefensible stance or accept their wrongdoings and send out an olive branch.
