用法三:用于表示“改变”的动词,强调逐渐变化的过程
Mom is getting old.妈妈越来越老了。
My dream is coming true.我的梦想一点点成为现实。
*注:常见表示“改变”的动词有:change,come,get,become,grow,deteriorate(恶化)。
用法四:用于强烈感情色彩的表达
What are we waiting for then? Let's get started.那我们还等什么?赶紧开始吧。(表不耐烦)
You're not asking me to marry you,are you?你该不是在向我求婚吧?(表惊讶和怀疑)
Why are you getting so upset just because I'm two minutes late? You're making this into a bigger deal than it is.你干嘛要生这么大的气?我只不过迟到2分钟而已。你这是在小题大做!(表愤怒)
用法五:表示将来确定的安排
Frank and Jenny are getting married?弗兰克和珍妮要结婚了?(日期已定)

I'm staying at Beijing.我会待在北京
I'm going to stay at Beijing.我打算待在北京
用法六:与always等连用,表示多次重复,且含有感情色彩
My wife is forever looking foe her keys.我的妻子总是到处找钥匙
He's continually asking me for money.他老是向我要钱。
*注:这样的词常有:always,forever,continually和constantly
