Generally speaking, in the era of open information, shared-information can be beneficial for many fields, such as scientific research, business and academic world, while others think some information is too significant to be publiced and those should be available after the government permits.
To begin with, if scientific statistics are broadcasted in the extreme groups(terrorists), it might be dangerous for the governments, even influent the whole world. The other factor is in economic trade, if the significant statistics are exposed to the opponent, which might bring huge loss to the company. So these sorts of information should be checked strictly before being assessed to the public.
However, scientific research rely on the available data in the past period.Here, a famers remark can be quoted that Newton once said “if I see farther than others, it is because I am standing on the shoulders of giants.” Which pointed out that the scientific research can not develop without previous discoveries. In this way the human civilization has greatly advanced. Meanwhile, the development of science and technology promotes economic development. I Believe these changes are due to the large range of dissemination of information.
In conclusion, information has strong force in the development of society. If people can use it in harmony and in an appropriate scale, it will be really beneficial to mankind.
