Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?"
"Over the Mountains Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied-
"If you seek for Eldorado!"
有一位穿着时尚，
勇猛干练的骑士，
他马不停蹄，夜以继日，
的踏破千山万水，
一路引吭高歌，
他要寻找黄金国。
可是，当他年老，行将就木之时,
这位勇猛的骑士却在心头
笼罩了一层阴影。
因为他踏破天涯海角，
都没有找到黄金国。
这让他万念俱灰，
筋疲力尽。正当这时，
他看见一位神圣的阴影
出现在他的面前，于是
他就对影子说：“影子
告诉我，哪里可以找到黄金国？”
影子回复说：
“在月亮的高山之上，隐逸的丛林之中
你若快马加鞭，就会指日可待。”
影子说完，就消失不见了，
仅留余音缭绕，不绝于耳
“若要寻找黄金国，此处方可去。”
