Today is the start of my eighth year in the United States. Last year has been wonderful, full of challenges and pressure, and most important, it was a fun year.
To celebrate, I made cookies from scratch, for the first time. There were all kinds of glitches during the process: before I started everything, I tipped over a plate of flour from the scale; the flour mix was not soft enough; I didn't have a pastry bag, and used a ziplock bag instead, and that was a terrible idea -- my flour mix was leaked all over the place when I squeezed the bag...; I over baked many cookies. All in all, it took me close to three hours to make my very first batch of cookies.
Luckily, the edible ones taste pretty good, and that's all I cared about, haha!
