ASQ是PTE口语考试中比较简单的部分，一般简答题有10-12道，只按照Correct or Incorrect的标准来评分，每题1分。但往往越简单的题，很容易因为忽视丢分，想要拿高分就要分分必争。
ASQ题型考察的是对常识知识的考察：
1.What is the day that someone is born?
Birthday
2.What plan shows how much money is available and how it will be spent? Budget
3.What is the name of a system of government in which the people elect their leaders?
Democracy
4.What planet do we live on?
Earth
5.What is the job of someone that looks after your teeth and gums?
Dentist
6.What is the time period before noon called? Ante meridian (A.M.)
7.What is the time after noon called?
Post meridian (P.M.)
8. What organ cardiologists specialize in?
Heart
9.Which section of a newspaper gives the editor an opinion?
Editorial
10.What instrument would you use to examine very small life forms?
Microscope
如果这些题用中文考察我们，我们很快就能将答案脱口而出，然而换成英文，我们就要搜寻脑海中所有相关的词，然后再筛选出正确答案。比如最后一题“哪种仪器可以观察微小生物？”，答案肯定是显微镜，可是你知道显微镜的英文吗？是microscope还是 telescope？既然不考核发音和流利度，就一定要增加自己单词量和常识知识的储备。
除此之外，ASQ还有图表，表格和图片题。
题目会问：
How do we call the finger which the arrow points at? (Thumb)
这些题都比较简单，表格类的题可能信息量比较大，需要在短时间内提取答案。
做题技巧：
1. 如果你在考试时三秒的准备时间已到却还没有想到答案，可以先开口稍作拖延，用“The correct answer should be…”一类的模板，以防系统关闭录音，因为在PTE考试系统里，考生在作答过程中超过三秒不说话，麦克风将会关闭，到时候你就算想起来答案，也于事无补了。
2. 如果题目问你“What do you call an apartment that is below ground level: a basement apartment or a penthouse”,你不是非常确定自己答案是a basement apartment 还是a penthouse，把可以把这两个答案都说一遍，因为ASQ项目的答案是不考察逻辑性的，系统只根据“正确答案是否包含在你的答案中”进行取词评判，只要你的答案中有正确的那一个，你就可以拿到这一题的分数。
