The winter solstice is one of the most important festival in chinese lunnar calendar,it is also as a traditional festival in chinese nation.Winter solstice is know as winter festival ,Chang Zhi festival and Ya Shui.As early as 2550 years ago ,chese had use the earth sundial observe the sun during the spring and autumn period.And the Winter Solstice is made in the earliest among the 24 solar terms it was between December 21th and 23th of the lunar calendar.Winter Solstice this day,the position of the direct sun reaches the southern most point of the year,which almost straight to the Tropic of Capricorn,so the Northern Hemisphere get the least sunlight,which is less than 50 percent less sunlight than the southern hemisphere,and the northern hemisphere has the shortest day.The farther north,the shorter the day. After the Winter Solstice,the stars are completely in winter sky.
