Good evening, toastmasters, I’m Yaselin, Honored to stand here, this is not my first speech, but it’s my first speech in toastmaster.
You can’t imagine that few years ago,I was very shamed to communicate with others, read out the English articles,answer the teachers’ questions even the brief English self-introduction. butsomething was changed after I push myself to read to lead.
When I was a freshman, a friend tookme to join neighbor-school’s English club “success English club”, when I walkedinto the classroom, I was shocked, Wow, amazing, there were so free, so crazy, andthey were confident, no matter reading or communicating, at that moment, avoice from my deep heart said to me, I want to change myself, then I participatedthe activities everyday. I tried to read out one sentence, tried to lead aphonetic symbol on the stage I encouraged myself to take part in English speechcompetitions, I failed again and again, but I did better and better. I murmuredto myself I’m a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.
Practice makes perfect, to speak Englishfluently sometimes just one sentence I would practice hundreds of times, Ipractice the tongue twisters: I thought a thought but the thought I wasn’tthought if the thought I thought has been the thought I wouldn’t have thoughtso much. Yes, just a piece of cake.
When I was a sophomore, my friendsand I wanted to create our own club aimed to transfer the positive power andhelp other students set up the English learning interests. Finally, we reached our goal.
From freshman to junior, I never giveup the reading, even I prepare the master examination, when I was a senior,every morning and night, one road, one book, one girl, and one day A teachergive me a thumb up, that was so precious to me. Do the things I’m not good at Irealized how to be a persistent person, most importantly I made many brilliant friends.Do what you’re not good at makes you more excellent and unique, you can receivea great of achievement. When I was master, I still take part in thecompetition, only one reason, practice myself and conquer myself, keep in mindyour own resolution to success is important than any other one thing.
We should appreciate that life is unpredictable, don’t set the limitation don’t close your mind to possibilities. Try to surround yourself with people who are equally ambitious.Put yourself in situation where you can grow where you’ll not only push yourself but others will push you. Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is important than any other one thing.
