I always stopped and connected the theories with what I ever behaved while reading this book. It’s like talking with the author and I indeed learned a lot.
The most exciting moment for us is when we’ve drained our energy and intelligence to accomplish one big challenge. My legs were numbed after a long run but I felt rather happy. I was immersed into the surroundings while running and only focused on my next step. This was the flow which the author defined. And I remembered when I was about 15 years old, I was crazy about making machinery models. I collected the components for a few weeks and when I set about making the model, I would locked myself in my room and never left before I finished. I forgot about the time and hunger. I enjoyed both the doing process and the final output. And these were what the author called the optimal experience.
When the optimal experience emerges, we’ve payed all our attention on what we do and we don’t have to fight against any distraction.
Attention is very precious which we’ve wasted so much. If we can control our attention, we could save more energy. We should train ourselves get into the state of flow.
