You realize that each verb is accented on the last syllable. You will notice also that in each instance the R is preceded by a single vowel. Now here is one of the very, very few rules of English spelling to which there is no exception: Every verb ending in R preceded by a single vowel and accented on the final syllable forms its noun with -ence.
是不是感觉找到了人生真谛的感觉，那什么时候双写R什么时候不双写R呢？
可以再回看上面十个词，前面5个的词变成名词之后重音回到了前面的音节，因此直接加上ence即可；而后面六个单词的重音保持在最后一个音节不变，因此双写R.
这个规则感觉很有用的样子，作者最后补了一句，只有一个例外：perseverance
