There are more and more animals endangered nowadays, birds are no exceptional. Many kinds of birds died out in the past decades and many other kinds of birds are in peril of extinction because of human’s destruction of their natural habitat. As the economy develops, humans exploit all kinds of resources, causing air pollution and forest degradation. Without their habitat, birds can go nowhere, their number decrease draftily every minute. It’s urgent to protect birds. First, we must make concerning laws to protect birds in danger and punish those who break the laws severely. Second, we must take some measures, like refusing to buy products made from valuable and rare birds to protect birds effectively. As the saying goes: no buying, no killing. Birds are our friends and part of our environment. Third, we should raise people’s awareness to protect birds and our environment. In this way, we can build a harmonious society and ensure a sustainable development.

It is widely known that harmonious co-existence between man and nature performs an essential role in social development. Based on this common sense, we should do something for the protection of birds.
There are several measures we can take to response to such a call. First of all, the departments concerned should organize necessary educational activities so as to make people realize the great significance of the protection of birds. In addition, efforts should be focused on strengthening legislation and enforcement, which is a hard but effective way. Last but not least, experts in the study of birds should provide professional suggestions on how to build nature reserves for the protection of birds.
Protecting birds is an indispensable part for maintaining the ecological balance. In order to achieve sustainable development, all of us should shoulder this responsibility.
