1.announce a plan for job cut
“裁员”或者“裁减工作岗位”都可用 job cuts 或 lay off 来表示,动词形式就是 to cut jobs 或者 to lay someone off;在英国,则多用 redundancy 表示,比如,Thousands of bank employees are facing redundancy as their employers cut costs.
economic depression
2.nervous : have butterflies in my stomach
3.interrupt: cut off
4.i'm so relieved.
Job hopping is more common with employess that are less tenured, and feel confident in their skills to be able to move on without burning a bridge and can add value immediately in a new oppotunity.
burn your 'bridges (BrEalsoburn your 'boats)to do sth that makes it impossible to return to the previous situation later不留退路;破釜沉舟;背水而战
Wu, a consultant at Career International, one of the nation's largest headhunters, specializes in the retail sector and last year, he and his team poached more than 30 senior executives for retailers.
Nowadays a good headhunter is as important as good staffs.(在今天的社会,好的猎头和好的员工一样重要。)
