Day 2, Page 11-21 结束部分文字:but as usual, I was wrong.
一. 字词
1. chew sb. out
(1) 原文:Dad walked down to the basement to chew Rodrick out, and I tagged along.
(2) 字典解释:to talk angrily to someone in order to show them that you disapprove of what they have done.
(3) 造句:When I came back to my office, my boss chewed me out.
2. take sb. under my wing
(1) 原文:I guess I kind of felt sorry for Rowley, and I decided to take him under my wing.
(2) 字典解释:to help and protect someone who is younger or less experienced than you are
(3) 造句:My brother always takes me under his wing.
3. deserve
(1) 原文:And he never gets in trouble, even if he really deserves it.
(2) 字典解释:to have earned something by good or bad actions or behavior
① Sam got the bonus at the end of the year, because he has worked pretty hard a whole year. He deserved it.
② The thief was caught by the police in the end. He deserved it.
注:今天看到Eric说,尽量不要用very,它过于口语化、模糊。然后我在读小屁孩儿的时候发现,作者一直在用pretty这个词来表达very的意思,学习一下。
二. 句子
1. But I guess I must have made a pretty big racket because the next thing I knew, Dad was downstairs, yelling at me for eating Cheerios at 3:00 in the morning.
(1) 知识点:非谓语动词的使用
(2) 仿写:I came home pretty late because of working overtime, but my Dad hasn't slept yet, waiting for me.
2. Unfortunately, Dad wakes up at 6:00 in the morning no matter what day of the week it is, and he is not real considerate of the fact that I am trying to enjoy my Saturday like a normal person.
(1) 结构:no matter what...
(2) 仿写:No matter what you say, I'll try again.
三. 日记
Today I went to an exhibition of light and sound. Although it's pretty noisy, I have gained a lot by visiting. And I took part in a new product show in the afternoon. Fortunately, I got a Bluetooth headset, because I was the first one to answer the question correctly. I felt proud of that.
