Hattie loves getting messy. At breakfast, she splodges porridge and milk down her cleant-shirt. She gets jam all over her face. 海蒂喜欢搞的很乱。吃早饭的时候，她会把粥和牛奶弄撒在她干净的衬衫上。她也会把果酱弄得满脸都是。Mommy says, "you look like you need a bath" 妈妈说“看上去，你要洗个澡了”“No" says Hattie, running out into the garden. Hattie loves to play outside. 海蒂爱在外面玩。In the garden, she can get really mucky. 在花园里面玩，她会弄得很脏。She squelches through the mud and crawls under leafy hedges. 她爬过泥泞，钻过绿叶树篱。
When Hattie comes inside, she has mud splattered all over her face and her top. 当海蒂回到家里，她的脸上和上衣都沾满了泥巴。She even has twigs in her hair. 她头上甚至还有小树枝。Mommy says, "Now you really need a bath" 妈妈说"你现在真的需要洗澡了“
"No!" says Hattie. “不要！“ 海蒂说。She still does not want to have a bath. 她还是不想洗澡。She wants to go back outside and play with the creepy-crawlies. 她想再出去玩，和爬虫玩。
Mommy says she has a special surprise for Hattie. 妈妈说她有一个特别的惊喜给海蒂。"This is Mr. Whale, you can play with him in the tub"。say mommy. “这是鲸鱼先生，你可以在浴缸里面和它一起玩”，妈妈说。
Hattie thinks that Mr. Whale is the best toy ever. 海蒂觉得鲸鱼先生是最好的玩具了。Mommy runs the taps and the tub with the foamy bubbles. 妈妈开了水龙头，把浴缸放满了泡泡。Some of the bubbles float up into the air and Hattie pops them with her finger. 一些泡泡漂到空气中，海蒂用手指戳泡泡。
Hattie gets in the bath. She has lots of fun playing with Mr.Whale and Mommy, too. 海蒂进浴缸洗澡。她和鲸鱼先生和妈妈玩得很开心。"I love bath time!" says Hattie. “我爱洗澡”，海蒂说。
