As we all know, since we live in a society made up of numerous people, we cannot do everything independently without being helped by others, and we should also give our hands when needed. And the kinds of help can range from handing over something to others to donating money to the ones in need. In my opinion, helping others has following benefits. First, when helping others, we can obtain the sense of being demanded, which is a kind of happiness. Generally, when somebody seeks help from us and we offer our supports to him, it will be a success for us since we can do something for others and they will be happier due to us. To make our friends, families, or even the strangers happy can be very satisfactory for ourselves. Secondly, the help is interactive since when we have difficulties, others will also help us. Helping others is a good way to make friends. If we just live with neglecting others’ needs and appeals, they will also do us the same and we will live a lonely life without just a friend. Therefore, helping others can be advantageous for both ourselves and other people, and we should do our best to help people in need.

We have been told when we were a little child that we should help others in need. We often do as what we were told in the childhood, and this should also be advocated now. Currently, China aims to build a harmonious society, which asks for everyone’s bit of effort. In fact, helping others produces many benefits. Firstly, as the old saying goes,“Roses given, fragrance in hand.”Through helping others, we receive friendship and happiness. Secondly, we can also get help from others when we are in trouble sometimes. Thirdly, helping others contributes to a harmonious society. So, let us help those who need help.

As the old saying goes, helping others will benefit yourself as well. Therefore, I have always  believed that helping those in need is a kind of virtue.

There was a charity sale organized by our university last week. The purpose of the sale is to help those children living in poor areas by donating clothes, books or other useful things to them. When I learned that, I decided to appeal to my classmates and friends to take part in this event. We collected lots of clean clothes, schoolbags and prepared some stationery for those children. And I remember that many other schoolmates also participated in this charity sale actively. To be honest, what we did perhaps can not completely change the life of these children, but it was obvious that we all took pleasure in helping others.

 As a college student, we have the responsibility to carry forward the traditional virtues of our country. I firmly believe that our love and sincerity to those in need is like the warm sun in winter, which is helpful in the construction of the harmonious society.
