Spiders
Yo, what’s up guys, today I would like to recommend a book. It is called-”Spider” from National Geographic Explorer Series. The reason that I chose this book is that the cover of this book is very interesting and I also wanted to find out more information about spiders, space junk and extreme creatures.
This book has been sperated into three parts: Spiders,Space Junk and Extreme Creatures.
In the spiders part, it tells me the habitat of spiders, different types of spiders like Web Spiders and Wandering Spiders and also the difference between spiders and insects.
In the Space Junk part,it tells me some interesting facts about Space Junk, how is space junk produced and how do we clean it up. here are some interesting facts: Do you know that Astronaut Edward White lost glove sped around the Earth at 28000 KM/h before burning up?
And also an €100000 Euros tool bag was lost during repairs to the International Space Station. People could see it from the ground by using a telescope! Isn’t that amazing!
After finishing this book I have learnt that spiders are actually not insects.
The insect's body is divided into three parts: Head,Thorax and Abdomen and also three pairs of leg and maybe zero to two pairs of wings.
But spiders don’t. Spider has four pairs of legs and they sprated their body into two parts: Cephalothorax and abdomen with definitely no wings. See! Spiders are not insects. They have huge differences.
So biologist sprated the spider out from insect and made up a new subject-Arachinids.
Which is amazing.
The most interesting part of the book is that some animals could live in an extreme environment. For example, a helmet jellyfish needs extremely cold water to live! If the temperature of the water raise up higher than 6°C, this jellyfish could die from extreme heat!
Another interesting part of this book is that most of the creatures in Antarctica move very slowly. It is because it‘s not easy to find food in that extreme environment so they move as slow as they can to save energy. Move slowly could also slow their metabolism down and that is the way for them to live longer.
Anyway, if you’re a “insect lover” like me or an “animal lover” which is also like me, please open this book up and have a look. You’ll find something new. There is a phrase in China called:As long as you open the book, there will always be new discoveries. I hope you guys can finish this book and find the treasure you want.
Thank you
