Deforestation means the disappearance of forests. It happens all around the world. However, this worldwide phenomenon can cause many problems for the environment and the world.
Let's first say soil. The soil that is suitable for several tree plants may just be suitable for only a few crops. That can decrease the effectiveness of the soil, though it seems that this phenomenon can support more people to get hungry. The reducing number of tree plants also causes many plants that have medical uses but haven't been discovered yet to disappear. The action to cut down forests damages a variety of species which have a crush on the environment.
The action to cut down trees seems to allow the same area to hold more people, but they in fact hurt the locals and immigrants of the area. The locals lived in the forest for generations, so they didn't contact them outside for maybe hundreds of years. When the immigrants came to the place, they may carry the virus locals haven't met in their whole history. This may cause an epidemic among locals.
And also, rainforests can contain a lot of carbon dioxide and change it into oxygen.
All in all, deforestation is nothing good for the environment.
