Well, most of the time, I send text messages and emails to communicate with my colleagues, so, especially in recent years, I seldom use a pen or a pencil.

Yes, of course. It was back in my primary school, probably in the first year. I remembered the first thing that my teacher told us was that if we used a pencil, we had to make sure that it is sharp. If we used a blunt pencil, it looked untidy.

I laugh most when I’m with friends talking about funny things that have happened to us. The last time I had a big laugh was about two weeks ago when one of my friends told me he got lost in Rome coz he couldn’t understand Italian.

Yes, you know, our pressure, no matter whether it is from work or study, is obviously higher than before. So, I do like to watch those movies or episodes that are funny.

Yes, of course. It’s a nice feeling when you can make someone laugh because you can see that you’ve made him or her happy. It’s great to share a funny moment with your friends.

4. Do you think it is important that you and your friends feel funny about the same thing?

Absolutely. It’s important to see the funny side of things; humor helps me and my friends not to take everything too seriously. It makes our relationship closer when we laugh together and laughter is also good for our health.

In my freshman year, I joined the debate team of my school. Actually my best friend was the team leader and it was she who encouraged me to join. She had always known how keen I was on debate. Every semester there was a debate competition in my city and our school's debate team participated. In the first competition I participated, the topic was “Should death penalty be allowed?”. It had always been a very controversial topic and the stance my debate team got was to support death penalty. It was pretty challenging. My teammates and I all worked very hard, collecting information. I did thorough research into the topic. I collected a lot of materials and contributed a lot of good ideas for my team's arguments.

Eventually, our efforts paid off. Our team won the first prize in that competition and we were all thrilled about the result. I was very proud to be on the team. Our team members were all bright, passionate and hard-working. We always delivered impressive arguments in the competitions.

I benefitted hugely from this one-year period when I was a member of the team. The debate experiences sharpened my thinking, taught me how to conduct research, helped me better articulate and gave me many dear friends.

I really miss those days when my teammates and I fought together and helped each other.

I'd like to talk about an article I read from a magazine about healthy living.

Just last weekend I stayed at home. To kill the time I grabbed a magazine and I stumbled across a very practical article about healthy lifestyle. Well, basically the article offers readers some very useful tips about how to live a healthy life and the content left a very deep impression on me.

I can still remember some of the important tips. Now the first one is to exercise regularly. According to the article, everyday people should be physically active for at least 30 minutes. Also, the article recommends people spend less time on screen. It  kinda got me thinking because, you know, I always have too much screen time. At the end of each day, my eyes are always strained and it is really uncomfortable. Reading that tip about exercising, I realized how important it is for me to put down my devices and start moving. So 3 days ago, I actually started to do some light exercise every day for about 30 minutes and now I feel terrific.

Another important tip from the article is about having a healthy diet. According to that article, we should have plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. We should consume a variety of protein foods and low-fat dairy products, and we shouldn't have too many soft drinks. Well, again, that tip reminded me of how terrible my diet was. I drink  cola pretty much everyday. Because of the tip, I became more aware about the things I eat or drink, every day I make sure that I have some fresh fruits. I believe the effort will pay off in the future.
