As many of us know, the torch festival is a traditional festival of the yi people. However, the torch festival is not only a festival of the yi people, but also an ancient and important traditional festival of some other minorities.

In our county, each township, each village, each family attached different importance to the torch festival. In our family, it's just a simple meal with friends and relatives and a sacrifice to kill a chicken.

In our local area, the bai people celebrate the torch festival on the 25th day of the sixth lunar month, while the han people celebrate it on the 24th day of the sixth lunar month. In general, bonfire parties are only held in the town. At that time, a big fire will be built in the square, and people will dance around the torch. There will also be some programs to celebrate the torch festival.

I have a han friend who is from another village. During the torch festival, all of their relatives will come back and eat together. If there are new graves, they will set off fireworks on the grave.

My other achang friend, she is from the next town. There, in addition to activities such as bonfire parties, rosin is also spread during the torch festival. Rosin is a kind of incense powder, which is scattered on people to eliminate misfortune and ward off evil spirits.

There's only so much I know about the torch festival. How do you celebrate the torch festival?
