Ant Financial, an affiliate（附属机构英 [ə'fɪliət]） of Alibaba（同位语解释）, a Chinese internet giant, raised $4.5 billion, largely from state-backed（主要来自国家支持的） investors—the biggest-ever（有史以来最大） private-funding round for a tech company. Ant runs Alipay, which handles more than half of China’s online payments, and a range of other financial services. The funding gives the firm a valuation(估值 )of about $60 billion.
