1.attic

He had taken cocktails onto the terrace before lunch and had then gone up to remove his things from the attic to another room.

explanation: a space or room just from below the roof of a house, often used for storing things

2.implicate

Whilst probability in some cases is against certain people being implicated, yet we cannot say definitely that any one person can be considered as cleared of all complicity.

explanation: to show or suggest that someone is involved in a crime or dishonest act

e.g. Three police offices are implicated in the cover-up.

3.reiterate

I reiterate my positive belief that of the seven persons assembled in this room one is a dangerous and probably insane criminal.

explanation: formal to repeat a statement or opinion in order to make your meaning as clear as possible = restate

e.g. Let me reiterate the most important points.

4.in the event of

All we can do at the present juncture is to consider what measures we can take for communicating with the mainland for help, and in the event of help being delayed (as is only too possible given the state of the weather) what measures we must adopt to ensure our safety.

explanation:  used to tell people what they should do if something happens

e,g, He left that letter for me to read in the event of his death.

5.plump for

Who do you plump for?

explanation: informal to choose  something or someone after thinking carefully about it

e.g. Finallly we plumped for a bottle of champagne.

6.perspiration

Rogers wiped the perspiration from his forehead.

explanation: formal liquid that appears on your skin when you are hot or nervous = sweat

e.g. He wiped the beads of perspiration from his brow.
