①Apparently, the cartoonist wants to remind us of the prevailing phenomenon of idol worship among the youth. ②Beckham is a representative of a great many famous entertainers and athletes who are passionately adored for their handsome appearance and unparalleled professional skills. ③An example is the 2005 Super Girl Contest in China, which made several teenage girls rise to fame across the country. ④After therush, it aroused a lot of heated social debates from all walks of life on the value and harm of idol worship.
①In my personal sense, idol worship is a double-edged sword which can either benefit young people or have a harmful influence on their growth. ②If we just adore the idols by imitating something external like appearance, hairdo, or fashionable clothes, the obsession will be a great waste of time, energy andmoney. ③However, I assume we should admit that these idols cannot achievesuccess solely by those external things; we must also acknowledge their hardwork behind. ④Indeed, the right way is to set them as examples inspiring us to work diligently, through which we can possibly narrow the gap between our idols and ourselves. ⑤In this sense, idol worship is valuable and meaningful.
