《Introduction of the Chinese cities- Guilin》

    Guilin is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Situated in South China, Guilin is like a glittering pearl on a green carpet, the scenery here enjoys the highest praise even from the Chinese people as “the finest landscape under heaven". The name of the city is derived from the Osmanthus trees which are called "Gui hua shu" in Chinese. One can see the olive green leaved green Osmanthus trees standing at almost every roadside all over the city. When the autumn comes, the fragrance of the blossoming trees covered with their tiny yellow flowers wafts along on the gentle breezes through the city, filling the air with the most exquisite fragrance. The scent is like no other, all at once, refreshing, revitalizing sweet and uplifting relaxing and calming.

    The local people collect the flowers to make tea and various ointments. This is not to mention the fact that the blossoming city is so pleasing to the eyes! Guilin is a world-famous tourist destination famous for its unrivalled and unique karst landscape, limpid rivers, amazing caves and beautiful rock formations. But there’s so much more to this amazing city – food for example. Eating in Guilin is a gourmets’ delight too with many local delicacies and specialties like Guilin mifen and oil tea.
