Overall, the graph shows the average global sea level increases smoothly over the nine years. In 1997, the sea level around 4.8 millimetres. It increase slightly in 1998 to about 4.9 millimetres, and then go up to 5 millmetres in 1999. It climbed steadily for three years to approximately 18 millimetres in 2002. In the next years, there was a small increase. The sea level increase to approximately 24 millimetres in 2004. It then rose sharply to about 29 millimetres in 2005. (103 words)
