"Let's sell our property, buy a boat then travel around the world!", my husband said to me after dinner.
" What are you talking about? are you crazy?"I put down the dishes that I was washing, staring at him,l couldn't believe what I just heard.
"Serious?" I squint my eyes to scan him, desperately wanting to find out what he just said was the truth or a joke.
"I have to be careful about what he said it's what he really wants." I told myself.
About thirteen years ago, when I just met him in Tokyo, I knew straight away that he was a wild man.
Please don't ask me "why" and "how " I fell in love with a man who was so different from my surrounding people and my family background, what I did know was that I was sick of my office job in that big modern city, sick of those "Saralimang"(サラリーマン, )(工薪阶层)kind of gentlemen whose was the only choice that I may have as a husband.
Then one day, he appeared in that stressful, boring city, with those well-dressed suits and ties gentlemen as background, his green eyes, brown curly hair, a big T-shirt and blue jeans made him look so outstanding, he attracted me immediately!
There was no one who told me what my life will be like to marry a wild man. It just like my mother had told me before I met him that I have to live on my choice and to learn the hard way!
He has an" itchy foot" and hates to stay in one place too long. Between his ten to thirty age, he has been to Africa, Europe, Asia, then has settled down in America for over 14years.
I know why he wants to buy a boat and travel again, it's because the stable family life was boring him for so long and so much.
"That is right!" He announced: "finally, the kids are getting older now, just about the right time for us to travel together, to see the world. It is the best education we can give them. It's much better than the education they are having now in school".He said to me with a big confident smile on his face.
" For God Sake!"I spoke loud in my head.
Since we came back to his home country in New Zealand and had two children, we have moved seven times with three different towns, we have just settled down in this small town, on the middle of the mountain.
"We don't want to go anywhere, this is our home."My two daughters said to my husband.
" Oh, good!"I said to myself." it looks like he is the only one who wants to travel so far, and it will differently drag his plan down for a while!"I sighed in relief.
