It is a very small and thin book. But it is colorful with many different kinds of fish. It is used by aged 1-6. 《Something Fishy》is written by Jeanne Willis. And illustrated by Paul Nichols.
With the cover picture, you may have a question. What kind of fish can the boy see? Is it big or small? Is it fat or thin? What colour is it?
The babies like watching fish in the park, and they like feeding them very much. Then they will say ‘it’s a big fish’.
This book is sent by my student. Thanks to her so much and then I can share with my babies.
It goes like this:
I can see a big fish.
I can see a little fish. My baby says, ‘I can see a small fish.’
I can see a fat fish.
I can see a fat fish.
I can see a flat fish.
I can see a blue fish.
I can see a shark.
After that, my baby make a shark face to me. Wow, she really wants to scare me. And I pretend to be almost cry and frightened. Haha.......
With these colorful pictures, it’s hard to stop drawing the different kinds of fish. One is big, one is small, one is blue, one is yellow, one is round, and one is flat. Maybe the babies are too young to draw, our parents can draw the fish and let the children to colour.
With each fish, we can make a game just like living in the sea. We can makes friends, play games, sometimes even quarrels. Some maybe the father, some maybe the mother, and they find food to their babies or they teach their children how to find food. Funny? Just have a try!
