Task 1
Write a letter to invite your English-speaking friend to watch a new film with you about your country. In the letter, you should:
· include some information about the film
· explain why your friend might be interested to watch the film
· inform other arrangements you will be making for watching the film
Dear Emily,
I hope you're well. I'm just writing to invite you to my house for a movie night this Saturday.
The Chinese domestic movie, My People, My Country, was first released on Sep 30, 2019. This epic anthology film consists 7 short stories directed by several different directors, which are based on 7 moments since the foundation of People's Republic of China.
As you are preparing an essay on the history of modern China, I believe this highly rated film can help with some inspiration. The film is in Chinese but with English subtitles, so there's no need to worry about the language.
During that afternoon, I'm also going to make some cookies and chips as movie night snacks. Let me know when you'd like to pop around.
See you soon.

Task 2
Some think that children should start school as early as possible, while others believe that they should start schools at the age of seven. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
People have different views with regard to the question of when to send children to school. While there are certain benefits to gain education as soon as possible, I believe seven is the best age to start school life.
There are two main reasons for those who are in favor of sending kids to school at a very young age. Firstly, top universities usually enroll limited applicants per year and the competition is getting more and more fierce. For some parents, the early their kids start learning basic knowledge, such as numeracy or literacy skill, the less likely for them to fall behind. Secondly, children are often left alone, or with nannies, when both parents choose to work full time in order to pay all kinds of bills and mortgage. By sending them to school, parents are able to worry less and focus more on their own work.
However, I strongly agree with people who emphasize the significance of childhood. Childhood plays an important part in the development of an individual and how they grow as adults. It is supposed to be a time full of enjoyment, playfulness, and innocence, but most importantly, it is the time to explore, and to discover how and where our footsteps on the trail of growth will lead us. The school life before 7 will not only bring tensions and deadlines, but also devastate their only chance to have childhood memories.
In conclusion, having children go to school until the age of seven is a better choice considering their future development.
