习惯在国内连鸡蛋都要网购的我,到了美国买东西也优先网购。在朋友们的提示和搜索引擎的指导下,我基本会货比几家.
最近我买的东西有吉他、自动加温的电热水壶、鱼油之类、储物、收纳箱等等。
比较价格之后,某个购物网上的价格脱颖而出地便宜,完胜另外几家。某玛有的东西便宜,有的就贵。
最值得一提的就是退货。
我先从网上订购了6个收纳箱,
一共71美元, 大哥说某玛实体店更便宜,也就是6刀一个,6个才36刀, 便宜一半呢, 我果断退货了。
可是过了几天,这六个箱子快递到了家门口, 而退回的钱也早已经到账了, 这不是捡了个大便宜吗! 大哥说,这是因为退货的人工成本、运输成本比较高,所以在包邮、90天内退货的政策下,商家宁肯送给你了, 也不愿意再付运费了。
无独有偶,昨天给二哥买的保温电热水壶到货了,我们马上用起来,确切的说是验收测试起来:水烧开、按上保温按键,一会儿水的温度还是下来了,沏茶肯定不够热。于是我决定退货,上网、选交退货退款,说明退货的原因,接下来,我吃惊地发现屏幕上弹出一行字:
商家给你一次机会退款12.01刀,(水壶25刀), 你可以留下水壶,你是否愿意?
我问大哥和二哥,他俩一口同声说:“留下水壶!”
掐指一算,退款差不多就是标价的一半!两次网上购物退货的经验告诉我,运费差不多占到物品标价的一半,这是个靠谱的推断。
想想也是,从美国西部千里迢迢坐飞机过来的东西,经过长途路上一站一站地运到家门口,一半花到运费上也差不多。美国地广人稀,去哪都得开车,离我们最近的邮局也要十几英里,一英里等于1.6公里,
不像在国内, 步行距离之内快递暂存箱、邮局都很近, 铁路运输也很发达, 电动快递车把最后一公里也覆盖得妥妥帖帖, 人工也比美国便宜。
我为啥关注了邮局呢,就是因为从美国邮政快递的货物,邮局不送到家门口,小件的东西直接放在信箱里。信箱距离我住的房子有1.5公里, 邮局送货肯定不是骑电动车, 多踩一脚油门的事, 这服务真太差劲了。 碰上信箱里装不下的东西,邮局留个黄条, 通知你去邮局取。
关于退货获得优惠,有的人就钻这个空子,比如买一块儿价值100美金上下的手表, 下单之后退了, 结果就是发货的白送了手表!
发货仓库没有国内分布得密集,导致这里送货的时间也很长,5个工作日(一个星期)很正常, 如果碰巧住的地方离发货仓库近,也有2天就收到的。 我这估计离得比较远, 我订的货还有两星期才能收到的呢。
急用的东西就直接去商店买了。
生鲜产品怎么送呢?不送!亚洲食品类,如果不那么容易变质的东西,可以上weee 去买,但是大哥说,我们住的算是偏远地区,所以不给送。
我们这偏远吗?距离机场开车1.5小时, 我怎么觉得不算远呢, 但是附近居民确实稀疏,走路的很少见,只有开车的。 到了30分钟车程以外的更大一点的镇子, 都看不到行人, 只能在某玛这种商场能见到行人。
不管咋说,总体的感觉是网购、退货,在美国都不如国内方便,这也算是人口分布稀疏的一个表现吧。

Just two days ago I took my daughter to W'mart. I needed some clothes and was going to get her a few things. This employee in W got mere inches from my daughter's face. She repeatedly asked what my daughter's name is. My daughter, she was full out terrified and grabbed my leg.
Then this employee grabbed my arm and started yanking me and told my 4 year old, “I'm taking mommy home. Mommy is coming her with me”. I was getting more pissed off and my daughter was completely shaken up.
I ditched the idea of getting clothes and went to pick my daughter up when the employee yet again interfered. She moved herself in-between my daughter and i, asking my kid what her name is. I gently slipped past the employee, grabbed up my daughter who was at the point of tears and carried her away.
The employee proceeded to follow us until we left the department and I looked back and she was staring at us. My daughter was shaking so bad, the back of my mind, I was thinking she was about to go limp and have a seizure. I got her to the food area and set her down. Anger was in my eyes, my daughter was completely frozen up.
I finally got up so we could leave the store. I decided after that we weren't going to buy anything! That night my daughter had woken up five times with nightmares. She said the W monster was going to take her away. It breaks my heart.
Can you describe the best online shopping experience one could have?
Well, we all like shopping online because of the ease and convenience but we Indians love bargaining even while shopping online.
This happened when I was looking for a fastrack watch and I usually buy things only from A while buying online. I found a good deal there but before buying I usually check for prices of the same product in other websites as well and the same watch was listed for a lower price in F.
Instead of buying it from flipkart, I called up the A customer care department and informed them about the scenario. Also I said that being a regular and loyal customer of A I don't want to buy that product from flipkart.
Who wants to lose customers right?
That customer support guy kept me on hold for a minute, talked to his senior and told me that you would get refund of that extra amount as amazon credit for your future orders, I agreed as it wasn't a bad deal and to my surprise when I went on order the product the price was slashed to that lower price same as flipkart. Thus creating no tension for refund or credits.
P.S. This is surely not the best experience but definitely useful. Also I prefer amazon over other websites just because I find it better in terms of customer service.
