Good news is that many policymakers are already seeing this inconvenient truth as a reason to put the brakes on renewable energy. Correspondingly they rethink how the world prices clean energy in order to make better use of the renewable energy.

The government should reduce the subsidy for clean energy, which can't provide all our daily electricity after all. The system relies on conventional power plants, such as coal, gas or nuclear, to kick in when renewables falter. In the other hand, in order to protect the conventional energy, the government has to curtail some wind farms to keep coal plants in business. Another solution is developing new technologies to stock more electricity from solar, and wind and adjust prices more frequently to reflect the fluctuations of the weather.
In a word, there is a long way to redesign power markets to reflect the new need for flexible supply and demand. re-regulate the electricity system and we can balance the electricity and environment.
