At first, I want to tell you a funny story.Last Friday,I found two lovers went on a bus,the girl loved to play with her boyfriend, she said a sentence suddenly in front of all passengers “Sunflower acupoint 葵花点穴手!”.All passengers felt doubted and wanted to know how did the boy react. Because we saw the boy stood stiffly,looked at his girlfriend very embarrassedly, and said: Dear honey, stop joking around, please untie the acupoint, because there are so many people seeing us.”At that time, I was moved and thought how lucky and happy the girl is! I hope I could find such kind of boy. No, no,no, I hope my daughter will find such kind of boy in future.
Just like Hector (经本正一)ever said in his mandarin contest speech, I also have a dream, I wish one day, I will be a humorous speaker. But in fact, I am a serious person,even worse,my husband is serious,too.,too. So I have no good environment to learn and practice humor. Humor is my shortcoming, but brother Mugua ever said:like the Wooden Barrel Principle, if you want to challenge yourself, please challenge the worst one！
Delivering a humorous speech is very difficult, Because Lincoln ever said: There are only two things more difficult than delivering a humorous speech, one is to climb a wall which falls down to you, another is to kiss a man who turns to kiss other woman.
In order to be humorous ,I did a big data analytics ,I found Lucy, Wave, Ryan，Wendy and Timothy are good at making humorous speech. Recently, I found Amy is our club dark horse, she is prominent at at making humorous speech because she is short, but talented. So I have confidence that I can be a humorous speaker not long after, because I am short, too!
But exactly how to be humorous?
Just like our club speech goodness Lucy,her body language is abundant,and wave ,Lucy’s mentee inherits her merits very well .Why does adding body language will make your speech more humorous? Because 55% of effective communication is from body language. So if you want to be humorous in your speech, please as much as possible add body language.
Then,I want to take Ryan as an example, as we know, he talked many stories happened between he and his wife, just like Lucy always talked about her mother-in-law. So if you want to be humorous in your speech, please as much as possible tell your own stories,because you can express your own stories vividly and find many funny materials in your life. In addition, most audiences are somewhat gossipy.
Next, I want to talk about Amy, our club’s dark horse, do you know why did she succeed in Toastmaster spring contest? I think above all, she is good at self-deprecation.So if you want to be humorous, please as much as possible make self-deprecation.,because audiences like to see you are embarrassed, because audiences like to see you are lower than them, what bad audiences they are !
All in all, humor needn’t how knowledgable you are, humor only needs you to love your life truly and deeply, only needs the desire you want to make people around you happy, if you do them, then,humor will happen naturally.
