Wednesday, March 7th.
When I was sitting in the library and studying this morning , a lady came in to the classroom where there were many students studying. Well, since she looks not young, I am going to call her lady. I guess she must be a master’s degree student.
The lady rushed to the girl who was typing something on her computer next to me. And she yield to the girl saying “ Can’t you see my books are here , why you are sitting here”? The girl did not understand what the lady was saying and she looked at the lady for a while . The lady said it again angrily and loudly, while all the students in the classroom looking at her with surprise. The girl understood what the lady meant and she laughed for a while. Then the fight started and everyone looked at them quietly.
I could not bear it anymore. I yield to the lady and told her that the classroom and the desk .....don’t belong to her, they belong to everyone of us. I said it with my face red and my voice trembling. I also scolded the lady with my emotional voice. Everything ended quickly.
It has been really strange somehow.
What the lady showed was the lacking of basic abilities of respecting others and how to treat public stuffs. She lacks these features. Of course it is not only her who is quite a failure in this realm, but most or all the people who grow up in China. I don’t know if this is caused by Chinese education or something else was working behind everything.
Secondly , people here really lack of the sense of justice. They prefer to keep quiet though something unfair was going on in front of them. What happened today was just a small thing. I saw and felt this kind of nature many times. It never can be a fascinating nature to me.
