The whole world has changed to a great extent just in a decade because of the technology .Can you believe nowadays 20-50peoples' assumption can affect 20 billion people who have different backgrounds , experiences and characteristics in their daily life ? The truth is yes , such as facebook, tictok , google, one new design , one new algorithm , one new business model from few people ideas can affect nearly1/3 population in the earth. The power of technology has accelerated in an speed which this world have never happen before , for sure we are living and experiencing with it , in addition we can already see how the new technology and algorithm affecting the new generations .
We are the product
If you are not paying for a product then you are the product
Definitly when we are surfing online ,especially the free apps such as twitter , facebook , ticktok ,we are the products not only users . The users' personsal infromation and data are the assets for the enterprise , so who is paying for the products we use right now ? the Advitisers .For B2C companies especially when the prodcut are free , the advitisers are the real customers , our information and data are the products , it's relate to business model , in my own opinion, it is not a bad thing for enterprise making money is the obligation ,and people can have the platform to show their talents to enlarge their knowledges about the whole world . It does have good impact to the socielity , but the problem is how the enterprise can protect us the users who are the "products" personal right . As a human being can we control the development of technology or AI? It is a question for us to think deeply because none thing can develop so quickly in the history before . The internet companies are becoming the most richest companies in the history of humanity.
For better prediction , we need a lot data
Nealry every IT product wanna the users to spend long time to watch to act on their platforms or systems , that is addiction , can you take off your phone easily when you are surfing ticktok videos ? i think the answer is not easy , because it can always provide you the new videos which you are interested in , so why ? because of the algorithms , they know you more than yourself at some extent .Through the big data what is related to you then using the algorithms to do the best prediction about what you like , what you wanna to watch is accurate than you can imagine. The personal data which is being stored in the super-computer of enterprise is not just stay there quietly but being used,monitored , evaluated andso on, since everything is about algorithms , when the algorithms become complex which can be able to cope with unforeseen circumstances, it is being called AI.
Be a worker who is in the industry of internet and technology , it is beneficial for us to know the side effects of the technology , so we can face it , understand it , learn it then use it to do good products which bring value to the stakeholders.
