The Middle Ground, a Great Ethno-History Book

The Middle Ground: Indians, Empires and Republics in the Great Lakes Region, 1650-1815, written by Richard Charles, tells a story of North American Indians. At that time, French and English came to North America, and  they competed to each other. So they both sought native Indian's help.

Indians were in constant war.  Iroquoians were in advantage, while Algonquins were foced to live in a small area called pdh.

English supported the Iroquois, while French supported the Algonquins. Europeans traded with Indians, gave them guns, knives to fight. They also supplied Indians necessities. In return,  they get beaver skins.
