Back when I was in high school, I watched the sky with my classmate Nancy one summer night.

That night I had a sleep over at Nancy’s. Her father had a telescope and he wanted to show us how to watch the sky with it. At about ten o’clock when the sky was completely dark, her father set up the telescope and we took turns to use it. Looking up through the telescope, we could easily spot a crescent moon, and loads of shining stars. Her father showed us where the Big Dipper was, which looked like a large spoon in the sky. All of a sudden, I saw ashooting star moving in the sky. I was so shocked. I had read about meteors in a book before but it was so surprising to see a real one.

That night I found sky watching was a lot of fun. I had never imagined there could be so stunning views and I enjoyed it very much. Since then I had fallen in love with nighttime sky because it has so many mysteries to explore.
