2. perpetrate: to do something that is morally wrong or illegal.
3. dilute: to make a quality, belief etc weaker or less effective
4. bold: not afraid of taking risks and making difficult decisions
5. instinct: a natural tendency to behave in a particular way or a natural ability to know something, which is not learned
6. go berserk: to become very angry and violent
7. invoke: to make a particular idea, image, or feeling appear in people’s minds by describing an event or situation, or by talking about a person
8. lousy: of very bad quality
9. tinker: to make small changes to something in order to repair it or make it work better
10. malevolent: a malevolent person wants to harm other people
Reflection
这周的阅读篇幅和阅读难度都有所增加，每章的内容都有很多的例子，由于缺少一定的例子背景知识，所以阅读对我而言还是比较吃力的。第十章里提到的It is very important to make our words do work and be precise. 作者向我们介绍了各种词性除此以外，作者提到了rewriting 的重要性I never thought of rewriting as an unfair burden; I'm grateful for every chance to keep improving my working.接下来在11章里，是非虚拟写作，The author mentioned : good writing is goodwriting,whatever form it takes and whatever we call it. 接下来的12 13 14章分别介绍了writing about people, place and yourself.作者提到的很多例子真是我的痛，大部分对于我都是陌生的，不过比较幸运的是，群里的小伙伴们读书笔记做得真是不错，在一定程度上帮助了我理解，也确实增长了文学作品常识。让我不断鞭策自己腾出时间读完每天的内容，写读书笔记，尽可能的多看别人的笔记。期待下星期的惊喜。
