This year is the turn point of becoming my 30. It's until this year that I truely began reading. As reading several books about how to make good use of time; about how to get up early; how to make your financial free etc, I became more of regrets that I should started to read at such an old age. While the writers of the books had realized the value of time and the importance of reading and constant learning at a very very young age. Like Li Xiaolai, he learnt computer skills when he was only at high school. And most of the writers began their right life attitude as early as their school time, or as late as their university time. They found the secret of success when they were young and they set a group of rules and achieved them also when they were young. That's the universal truth of how human can be successful. While most of us, the ordinary ones, they knew the secret but failed to fulfill it.
Many books give advices to those readers who are still at their 20s and illustrates it is too hard or too distracted for people older than 30s to focus on learning, how less advantagous than the youngers. That's the case. When we get older, we will face more complicated issues, like marraige, raising up children, parental health and even our own energy shortage. The scene is I feel so regretful as I read these books. Those books are mainly targeted to the younger ones who have got bigger shots in their life. Now I am at the corner of my 30 and just know this secret and still want to give it a shot which I never truly did before, put it into daily practice and I do find how much more difficult than previous years with still being single; no job; health issues and other facts slashing upon my face. I understand the lyrics "I don't want to grow up. The older you are, more worries you get." better.
But so what?? Even these success-oriented guidence books are for the more hopeful ones, there is no such book in the world dare to testify that there's no chance of the olders ones to be successful. What we, the older ones, need to do is just do the same things, make good use of their methodology as the succeeded people. There's always a long lonely uneven path before getting into the successful avenue. Like the the growth of a tree. If the break of the soil means the first success, then the growing of the roots are like our path. Roots are growing underground silently and if given more time to grow, the deeper they will reach, the stronger and tougher when they become a tree.
I do know starting at this age is relatively late compared with others, but it's still not too late for the rest of my life. Each today is the youngest me. Now is earlier than later, and later is so much better than never!
