Forbes declares there are 2,153 billionaires in the world and their average wealth is around $4.1 billion dollars. Did you know? 26 of the world’s richest people have as much wealth as 50% of the world’s poorest people!
如今，Facebook每月有超过20亿的用户，Instagram每个月有10亿用户！社交媒体有影响力的人可以直接触及、传达信息到世界1/7的人群。
Today there are over 2 billion users on Facebook every month, and Instagram has 1 billion users every single month! Social media influencers have the power to reach and give information to 1/7 of the world’s population.
金钱、名誉和影响力控制着世界的运行方式，我们也许会问：金钱、名誉和权力是好是坏？实际上，它的好坏取决于我们如何运用它。
With money, fame and influence controlling the way the world runs, the question we may ask is: Are money, fame and power good or bad? The truth is, it depends how we use it.
让我们以刀为例。一把刀，不好也不坏，衡量刀的好坏，取决于使用它的人和形式。强盗可以用这把刀杀人越货，而医生会用它来挽救人类生命。刀本身没有好坏之分，我们如何使用它才赋予它真正的意义。
Let’s take an example of a knife. A knife is neither good or bad. It’s determined by who has that knife and how it is used. A thief could use the knife to kill someone and to steal what they have. A doctor will use that same knife to save a person’s life. The knife is not inherently good or bad, it is given meaning by how we use it.
能力越大，责任越大。那些在世界上有影响力的人，有财富、有权势的人，有能力将智慧分享出去，给人们的生活带来希望和幸福。他们可以真正帮助人们更接近自己的本性。如果我们将自己的影响力用在这样有益的地方，就可以改变世界。
With great power comes great responsibility. Those that have influence in the world, that have wealth and power have the potential to share wisdom, bring hope and give happiness to people’s lives. They can truly help bring people closer to their own essence. If our influence is used for this benefit, it can help change the world.
然而，如果我们的权力只是用来打广告、剥削人民，那么权势、金钱和名誉所具有的影响力就能毁掉人们的生活，让他们感到匮乏和真正的绝望。
However, if our power is simply used to advertise, to exploit people, then power money and fame with all its influence can ruin people’s lives, can make them feel inadequate and truly hopeless.
至少有80%的人每天生活费不足10美元；世界上大约有7.95亿人由于缺乏食物过不上积极健康的生活；7.8亿人没有机会用上改良的水源；25亿人，超过世界人口的35%，缺乏改善的卫生设施。金钱、名誉和权力，如果用于更高目标，它们便可以帮我们解决所有上述问题。
At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. Roughly 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. 780 million people do not have access to an improved water source. 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation that’s more than 35% of the world’s population. Money, fame and power can help us to solve all of these if they are used for a higher purpose.
我们每个人，无论拥有什么样的资源、技能或影响力，都可以为世界和生活本身做出无价贡献。
Each and every one of us, with whatever resources, skills or influence may have, we can make an invaluable contribution to the world and to life itself.
伟大不在于我们拥有东西的数量，而在于我们品格的质量。世界急需在家庭、朋友和社会中建立模范领袖。约翰·卫斯理曾写道:“我们必须尽我所能，以任何意义、方式，在任何时间、地点，为所有人，尽我所能。”
Greatness is not in the quantity of what we have, but in the quality of our character. The world is starving for exemplary leaders among family, friends and society. John Wesley has written: “We must do all the good we can by all the means we can, in all the ways we can, in all the places we can, at all the times we can to all the people we can, as long as we can.”
