#1. What does the section say?
While Hem and Haw were trying to decide what to do, Sniff and Scurry were already well on their way. They went into the Maze, up and down corridors, looking for cheese in every Cheese Station they could find. They found a great supply of New Cheese in Cheese Station N finally. At the same time, Hem and Haw left their homes, returned to Cheese Station C again, where they still expected, somehow, to find their Cheese. After doing the same things over and over again, though Haw did not like the idea of having to run through the Maze again, because he knew he would get lost and have no idea where he would find any Cheese, he finally realized that things change and they are never the same again. That's life. Life moves on, and so should we. They decided to find new cheese in the end, drawing a picture of cheese with a sentence on it-- if you don't change, you can become extinct.
#2. What does the section mean for you? Give a story from your life.
This story got me thinking about the comfort zone.
I used to be a person who was used to staying in the comfort zone. I was not used to contacting and trying new things.
One day when I was in junior high school, my teacher called me into his office and told me that my school had chosen me to represent our school in a speech contest in Hebei Province. At that time, I was extremely refused. I don't like memorizing things and making speeches. I hated the feeling of making a speech in front of many people, and I was also afraid of the embarrassment after forgetting my words. In the beginning, I was very sad and stressed every day. I even cried when memorizing at home. My parents and teachers chatted with me, guided me and encouraged me. After I finished my homework every night, I practiced again and again at home. When I was at school, my teacher took me to several classes to make speeches before class to exercise me. Gradually, I found that I was less averse to public speaking, and even found it interesting and meaningful to share my ideas with others. To my special joy, I finally won the first prize in the competition, which greatly gave me confidence. I've also learned that it takes courage and effort to leave our comfort zone, and when we do, we'll discover a whole new world.
