Help students talking with other people fluently and confidently is the main aim of the language class. However, it may seem simple, yet not easy to be achieved.
There seems are a number of barriers standing in the way of meeting the aim.
Language learners often find that they have accumulated a lot of "up-in-the-head" knowledge about language, but it's hard to actually use the language to communicate. With little or no language using experience, learners tend to be nervous about trying to say things in the language. Sometimes, they worry about making mistakes; sometimes, they fear seeming foolish in front of others; there are also times that learners feel embarrassed when they need time to organize their thoughts with lots of people watching and judging.
Despite all these troubles getting in front of every teacher, we know the main task in our classes is to help students talk with their peers fluently and confidently.
