如同把一种语言翻译成另一种语言，我们可以用 translate 让两个事物发生转化。
比如，“化痛苦为力量”就可以说成：
It's time to translate pain into strength.
我们想表达一个产品的客服做的越好，它的用户就会越忠诚，我们就可以说：
Quality customer service translates into customer loyalty.
由于 translate 可以描述两个事物的转化，这种转化很多时候都可以理解为“意味着”（上面句子中的 translate 就可以理解为“意味着”）。
这种用法在外刊中很常见，比如《经济学人》在语言板块 Johnson 中讨论学习外语的价值时，在标题部分就用到了 translate：
