Hamlet作为四大悲剧之首，历经百年，仍然散发着迷人的芬芳。
初见这位高贵的王子，他的周身仍笼罩在悲伤之中。

这位王子是毕业于Wittenberg university（这所学校是马丁路德的母校，路德宗派的发源地）接受过良好的教育，是一个清教的知识分子。回国之后，他现在所面临的的情况他回来参加他父亲的葬礼，确切的说还有他母亲的婚礼，新郎正是他的叔叔现已头戴王冠，成为丹麦的新王，所有人皆对新国王俯首称臣。而我们的王子只是一个手无缚鸡之力的书生，心里难过郁闷，却无法付诸行动，而且当时整个丹麦对他来说是一个充满压力的环境。他唯一的朋友Horatio这时把带他见了他父亲的鬼魂，奠定了全剧的动机，在命运之轮驱使之下，剧情渐渐发展。

为了证明鬼魂的话是否是真实，Hamlet选择了装疯来保护自己，这时老谋深算的新王并不相信他已经疯了，让他的女朋友Ophelia和他的两个大学同学来试探他，Hamlet都识别出来了，继续装疯，直到王宫里来了一群伶人，这时Hamlet心生一计，用戏来试探自己的叔叔。

他暗中嘱咐Horatio仔细观察他叔叔的样子，果然，what a pity！更加确立了这场复仇的正义性。他的叔叔大惊失色想把Hamlet置于死地，可内心也在经受着良知的拷问，残存的最后一丝善良，让他双手合十，跪下忏悔，Hamlet手持利剑躲在帘后，在那个夜晚完全有能力杀死他，可Hamlet犹豫了，因为一个人不论生前好坏只要在临死前虔诚祷告还是可以进入天堂的，他不能让他叔叔的灵魂上天堂，这样如何对得起日日经受折磨的父亲呢？这时他收回了利剑，说道It will be better to wait, I must be patient, your words to god have saved you now, but you won’t live much longer，却没有看到他的叔叔已经放下了心中残存的最后一丝善意，下定决心要把Hamlet置于死地。
这时，年轻的Hamlet与他的母亲发生了争执，以为在母亲寝宫内鬼鬼祟祟躲着是他的叔叔，拔出利剑毫不犹豫的刺入，可应声而倒的确是Ophelia的爸爸——大臣Polonius。这时的Hamlet却没有一丝忏悔之意，他亲手葬送了他与Ophelia的未来，此时他完全是一个复仇的机器。父王的鬼魂突然出现，却只有Hamlet能看见，他的母亲以为他因为刺激过大发疯开始胡言乱语，心疼着看着儿子，却又不知如何是好。在观众心中，Hamlet是善良、脆弱的高贵王子，这一幕戏塑造了带有一丝残忍、果决，使Hamlet人物形象更加丰满。
王子在重压之下被送往英国，途中看到了同样背负着复仇使命的挪威王子为了寸土之地抛头颅洒热血的勇气，更坚定了Hamlet不向命运屈服的决心，这时趁海盗来袭，他逃回到了丹麦，回国之后等待他的将是爱人离去的消息。Ophelia单纯的认为Hamlet的疯狂是因为自己拒绝了他，而在这种疯狂之下他杀死了自己的父亲，Ophelia无论如何都无法原谅自己，最终选择了投河自杀。在杀父夺母大仇之前，他对Ophelia的爱是天地可鉴的，那样单纯可爱又美丽的人儿啊。

Hamlet向Horatio解释同去英国的两个朋友的情况，也就是向观众们解释整件事情的来龙去脉。:He killed my father andsleeps with my mother. He’s destroyed my happiness and has tried to take mylife now he has to pay for his crimes
最后一幕，Ophelia的哥哥Laertes在国王的怂恿下，把所有悲剧发生的原因都归咎于Hamlet。于是他提出了决斗，Hamlet同意了与Laertes的决斗。毕竟王子为了复仇每天都勤于练习剑术，Laertes低估了王子，还有一个原因则是Laertes手里拿的剑是毒液淬过的，良心的拷问使动作稍显迟疑，Hamlet连连占了上风，慌乱之际相互刺中了的对方。这时王后应声倒地，原来是国王和Laertes商量好的第二计，若Hamlet没有被刺死就让他把这杯剧毒的酒饮下。王后得知，为了自己的儿子，她喝下这一杯酒。Laertes告诉Hamlet是他叔叔策划了这一切，他与他皆命不久矣。
