I am a student from Hangzhou. It’s a city with wonderful scenery, long history and unique culture.
An old Chinese saying goes, “there’s paradise in heaven, and Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth”. Hangzhou is famous as the ten scenic sights of the West Lake, which is very enchanting and offering many attractions for tourists at home and abroad.
But, Usually the Hangzhou natives are not going to the West Lake, because the crowded conditions will make us uncomfortable. In fact, Hangzhou is full of beautiful scenery. You can take a time and feel free to look around. The green trees, clean water and fascinating flowers can make you closer to the nature. You can also climb the mountains, then you will fall in love with the fresh air and the quite environment. It’s uncommon in such a big city.
In the evening, The colorful lights are covering the whole city. In my memory, I was huge surprised at the lights above the city when taking a plane back to Hangzhou some night. I believe, you will be shocked too if you have a look.
As for the history and the culture, it’s interesting to learn. More than 4700 years ago, there were humans living in Hangzhou, and they created a Liangzhu Culture. Hangzhou used to be called as Yuhang, Qiantang and so on. During the long centuries, many famous poets, like Su Shi, Bai Juyi, came to Hangzhou and left many fantastic lines. It’s one of the reasons why Hangzhou becomes so popular in the world.
I was born in Hangzhou, grow in Hangzhou and live in Hangzhou. I love it and I am very proud of it. I hope to make it more beautiful in the future.
