Several years ago, I went to a college which located in Hangzhou. At that moment, I barely went to southern cities in China and I didn't know some traditions and habits of people who live there. I used to eat food made from flour as my staples, especially for my all time favorite dumpings. However, I realized my school canteen didn't offer dumpings when I was a freshman. I was shocked and I couldn't do anything, as students are not allowed to cook in dormitories. Then I thought my college life would be tough and ruined, for I am a foodie. When I mentioned this hard situation to my roomies, they would not be able to understand why I found dumpings delicious. Because they prefer to eat rice rather than noodles or dumpings. So the only thing I could do was that adapted the new circumstances.
One man's meat is another man's poison
