buy the story/excuse
buy还有“接受，相信（尤指不太可能真实的解释或理由）”之意，常接story或excuse等。buy into sth也可表示“相信（某种观点）”。
eg. She'll never buy that story about you getting lost!
她永远不会相信你迷路的事！
buy a pig in a poke
字面理解是“从口袋里买只猪”，买家看起来就不太聪明的样子。因此这个俚语的意思是“（不管好坏）瞎买东西”，也有“盲目同意”之意。
eg. He regretted buying a pig in a poke because the secondhand computer he had bought didn’t work.
他后悔自己瞎买东西，因为他买的二手电脑根本不能用。
buy与purchase
英语中，buy和purchase这两个词都表示“购买”。buy较为口语化，用于日常生活中，表示少量、随意地日常购物；亦可表示“行贿，收买”。
eg. They say the judge was bought.
他们声称法官被买通了。
purchase则比buy更正式。表示经过计划、花费力气地购买大宗或昂贵物品，也表示在高档商店购物。
eg. The company has purchased some property on which to construct a new supermarket.
公司已经买下一些地产用于建造新的超市。
