议论文--网络信息多好不好

With the proliferation of the access to Internet, people easily get puzzled among tons of information provided, so are these information valuable or misleading?

People used to say that the secret to narrow the gap between rich and poor lies only in money, but now with the spread of the access to Internet, poor kids can also get free education from online courses like the Moocs or the Coursera and petty loans from organizations like the Kashf Foundation, thus exploring more ideas for self-improvements and starting their own small businesses. Besides that, girls in developing countries in Asia and Africa could be inspired by the online speeches about gender equality and unite themselves trough social media like the Facebook or Twitter to fight against domestic violence and apply for more rights for themselves and their female offspring.

However the opponents believe that too much information online could be misleading since there are both useful information and advertisements—people could get misdiagnosed if they believe the unqualified hospitals online just because the search engines put them on the top pages and get money from them. There are also people who suffered from what they posted online even though they deleted them at once—thousands of Internet users would attack them verbally and label them as racists or exhibitionists and some may even hack and publish their personal information. Social medias like the Facebook and Twitter also provides camps for terrorists groups to recruit youngsters since they could easily hide among the sea of information.

As far as I am concerned, the widespread access to Internet provides opportunities to break the social ladders for the majority and benefits the movements of the progressive societies. I admit that problems do occur but there are also ways to tackle them—by initiating new laws and regulations towards harmful information online, perfecting the supervision system for online speeches and promoting education for all in order to raise people’s critical thinking to judge for themselves, we could make the Internet a better place. Every great invention in the world experienced suspicions and downtimes, but they could all find ways to perfect themselves and then suit for all.
